So it's been awhile since I've been out to Frankie's in Naperville, but becuse I didn't have to work on Thursday I made the trip out to see some old friends and support the suburban dance scene.

Here's where the weirdness starts. After drinking about half of my first beer, I set it down on a table so I could dance. While dancing I witnessed a dancer ,who I've seen at many events in both the city and suburbs, accidentally knock over my drink on the table. He looked around and walked away, leaving the bottle on the floor and making no effort to see if he could apologize for the accident. Because I didn't want to interrupt my dance, and becuase the drink was less than half full, I made no big deal of this. In fact, Carl bought me a new drink.

Later that night, I had just set down a brand new beer on the bar rail near the dance floor. The crowd had pretty much thinned out at this point, and I was going to dance another song. While I was dancing an older guy (who seemed to be affiliated with the band, because he helped them carry out some equipment) accidentally knocked over my full beer. The God's of gravity were just not on my side. He looked around to see if anyone was watching, and started to leave the scene (puddle of beer and bottle on the floor). I politely tapped him on the shoulder and informed him that it was my drink that he had just knocked over.

The conversation went a little something like this.....

Me: "Excuse me, that was my drink."
Him: "So."
Me: "It was brand new and full. Are you going to apologize or buy me another one."
Him: laughing "No!"
Me: "No?"
Him: smugly "No, why did you put your drink there in the first place?"
Me: annoyed "Because it's a bar A**h*le."
Him: like a tough guy "What did you say?"
Me: "I called you an A**sh*le because you are making no effort to apologize for what you did."

So after getting in my face and pretending to be a tough guy. He turned at sat back down at the table he was sitting at. I quickly thought of many things I wanted to do, like walk over and spill his drink, etc... but decided that it wasn't worth the consequence of making a scene in the bar, and risking my ability to attend dances there.

I informed the management of the spill on the floor, and they graciously replaced my drink free of charge. I'd like to thank Frankie's management for the gesture.

But the question that begs to be answered is this... Am I wrong for asking the guy to replace my drink???? I've knocked over my fair share of other people's drinks, and know that I quickly apologize and offer up a replacement for them. It really burned me that this guy didn't care at all.

Just askin'

So much has been going on that I haven't been able to post in awhile. I'll start with work. It's been pretty busy. Mostly the same old stuff (ice cream, pizza, other random assorted foods), but recently I've had some change of pace. I was asked to work on a couple of celebrity shoots (Terri Clark and Kirk Hinrich), but unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts I had to pass the jobs up. It's good to know that I'm in the circle of people working on these types of gigs. I did however, work on a photo shoot shooting Dick Portillo's house. He's the dude who owns Portillo's Hot Dogs. This guy has an amazing house with an astounding art collection, but I'm not supposed to talk about it, so I'm not going to. :)

As some of you may know, I played on a kickball team this past summer. Yes, kickball. The sport we've all played on middle school playgrounds. It was a blast. The team I played for started out rockin', but then bit the big one by the end of the season. I did get the honors of making the All Star team and will play in that game next weekend.

I'm in the midst of planning my Halloween / Birthday party too. Check out the E-vite if you'd like to attend. It's going to be a blast. I've got an 80's party DJ and all sorts of cool games lined up. Hopefully my special order costume shows up in time!!!!

I've also been camping, and have been watching a lot of TV. I threw out my back and went to see Shaun of the Dead. It was a hilarious movie with lots of cool gore stuff. I totally recommend it.

Well, there hasn't been all that much excitment lately. I've been staying busy with work and that's about it. I've posted on craigslist to try and get some headshot work, and the initial response was good. I'm hoing to keep the post going so that I can generate some steady income from head shots. That would allow me to stop assisting so much and be able to focus more on my own work. Fingers are crossed!

Well, in case you haven't guessed, I've been pretty busy lately. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to updating my journal in close to a month. Although, because I'm psycho and love Spider-Man, I had to completely re-do my whole friggin' website to reflect those qualities.

Things have been good overall. Work has been busy and seems as though it will be through August. I've also been teaching a huge amount of "wedding dance" private lessons to couples who are getting married this summer. My favorite is when they come in the weekend before their wedding, have never danced before and expect that I'm going to turn them into Ginger Rodgers and Fred Astaire. Yeah, you wish.

I finally got a kitchen table and chairs too.

What a difference it makes in the kitchen!!!

I'm also looking into getting a new car. Not new, new, but new to me. If I get the one I'm looking at, it's going to be super sweet. I'm not got to post any pics until I'm certain.

So all i have to say is that Spider-man 2 rules. I've seen it twice so far, and can't wait to see it again. It has action, comedy, romance, and drama. Bad ass special effects don't hurt either.

If you can't get to the theater to see it, check out this lego madness summary!
